every Wednesday until the passage by Congress and signature by the President of a American, Free-to-patient, Single Payer, Tax Base Funded, non employer or employment based, REAL Universal Health insurance or healthcare system.

It's what the public wants and our politicians are WAY behind so...
we are slowing down in our cars to every road's MINIMUM speed limit every Wednesday until our representatives can catch up with our wishes!

When the people lead, the leaders will follow!

All YOU need to do is just get in your car and drive the legally slowest MINIMUM (NOT maximum) speed limit for your roads every Wednesday either in your normal routine or whenever you want to hop in your car, listen to some music and make a huge difference.

Remember, drive the MINIMUM speed limit for your road which is often much less than the maximum speed limit for the roads. Look for the signs for the MINIMUM speed limit in your area.

The Idea

What:

On every Wednesday all day long either in your normal commute driving or whenever you want to make a difference you get in your car and you should drive the absolute MINIMUM legal speed limit on the street or highway of your choice in order to make a visible statement that will be seen and felt by everyone using the routes. Look for the MINIMUM speed limit signs in your area to prepare. The times that would make the most impact and be the most visible are morning, lunch, and evening commutes.

When:

EVERY Wednesday if you can - at LEAST the FIRST Wednesday of every month until congressional passage and presidential signature. The times that would make the most impact and be the most visible are morning, lunch, and evening commutes.

How long:

Until congressional passage and presidential signature of an American, Free to patient, Universal, Single Payer, Tax Base Funded (not patient fee or individual patient premium based), non employer or employment based, Health insurance or healthcare system for America to begin within 6 months of passage with no other required triggers and no other excuses or delays. (in other words a REAL universal health care plan without tricks or redefinitions).

I will list any plan that I think qualifies to call off the slowdown if one comes up close to passage. Right now the current legislation doesn't come CLOSE to qualifying.

Please PUBLICIZE:

Please link to this website, tweet and talk about it on the social network of your choice and tell others. and tie a yellow ribbon to your antenna or put one in your window. Put the website name in your car window or hand it out to people. Driving with something yellow or the website name is a great way to publicize this. It only works if people will participate. What else?:

put a yellow ribbon or piece of paper or the words "www.massivemedicalmobilization.org" on your antenna or window if you would like to be able to recognize and build mutual support, recognition and publicity among other drivers who care about Universal health insurance and to show the numbers of supporters and build on them. The publicity of this effort caused by being on roads with lots of other people is one reason this can work. Those eyeballs can't be censored by the news media. Thousands will see each car doing this. If you prefer to go incognito until lots of other people start doing it then you can do that too. We just would like you to participate.

Why Wednesdays:

It needs to be visible and Monday's and Fridays are congested, crazy, tiring days for most people. If this becomes visible on Wednesdays people will more easily notice why.

Why Now:

Because congress can't get passed something really good unless the public shows them that the public cares more about this than we are currently showing them, and because people are dying everyday. The public demonstration of support needs to be unignorable, unmistakable and NOW.

Did you know England started their National Health Care system when they had just finished World War 2? They started theirs when they were literally bombed out and in huge economic debt and ruin. Look around you! We aren't in bad shape at ALL compared to England when THEY started THEIR National Health Care system! Their National Health Care system actually BOOSTED their economic recovery because the huge new demand for medical services (since everyone could suddenly afford them) caused huge new facility construction and created huge new numbers of high paying health care jobs. Isn't this EXACTLY what we need economically as WELL as for our health right now? It needs to be visible and Monday's and Fridays are congested, crazy, tiring days for most people. If this becomes visible on Wednesdays people will more easily notice why and they will be more willing to participate.

Why this method:

Because people need an EASY way to make an IMPACT that can't be censored by the news media. The widespread Wednesday traffic legal speed limit slowdown will do it. People in the US have enough problems without expecting them to quit work or risk arrest to exercise their rights to peaceably show support for something, and no one pays attention to people gathering in a group somewhere to chant behind some sectioned off fence and the news media censors it and no one notices it.

This is legal but will have a very noticeable effect that can't be censored. People usually don't drive the minimum speed limit or even the speed limit. (This may even save lives in accidents and gas so heck you'll be doing a good thing while doing a good thing.)

Obviously multiple drivers participating on one route or many busy commuting routes could have a profound effect on the routes chosen. The effect will build from week to week because more people will realize what is happening and as more people see others doing it THEY will also feel encouraged, happy and safe joining and doing it themselves.

This is a positive action designed for Americans. Let's face it, we Americans love our cars! Americans feel secure and safe in their cars. This way people don't have to face off against anyone on foot or do anything wrong or risky. In fact it's essential that you drive legally. Take an extra moment at a red light to make SURE no one is coming the other way. Be extra careful on that highway - drive really slowly and save gas too!

I believe that if this perfectly legal ( and by the way probably safer than normal) driving practice is adopted every Wednesday we could put enough visible public and economic pressure on politicians and businesses to get them to vote in a European or Japanese style universal non profit healthcare system in the United States within 6 months or less. - Perhaps in a SIGNIFICANTLY shorter period of time.

Writing letters, chanting on street corners, donating money - none of it has done much good and it demands too much of a population that already has too many demands being placed on it.

No donations. This isn't about money. Enough other people have taken your money. What you need to do is get in your car and PARTICIPATE.

Meetup isn't associated in any way with this in any way, but it is just a good system to meet and chat with others and plan meetings in your city with people interested in the same things. Healthcare efforts can't wait until I can implement some communications system on this website. I'm just one person with an idea trying to help us all help each other and make a difference. Get in your car. Listen to some tunes! Tie a yellow ribbon to your antenna or mirror or put a piece of yellow postit or paper in your window to show solidarity if you want! Make a huge difference and see others doing the same!

It up to you. I can't do it all. We all need to pull together on this. It will only work if you choose to participate and tell others.

But ... IF we do this we CAN get universal healthcare implemented in the USA FAST.

This is really different. It will really make a visible impact. It requires no personal risk or money. Everyone in America likes to drive, this is your excuse and IT WILL WORK!

You need to do this while you still are healthy enough to do it. Please take part. About 150 people die every single day we don't have universal health care or insurance in this country. Special note to Business owners

Are you a business owner or business person? Remember all the other countries that have universal healthcare have a competitive advantage over American businesses when competing against you because their governments cover their citizen's cost of healthcare so their product prices don't have to include that cost. So foreign business product can undercut you.

Why should your business be crippled just to continue private health insurance company profits coming right out of your business's or employee's or your pockets? Why should any company be making a profit off the PREMIUMS that go toward healthcare when they don't actually provide any healthcare at all - they just collect the pass along the premiums to doctors? (and they do that badly.) Private health insurance companies are making their ridiculous profits off the backs off YOUR company's profits for doing something the government alreayd does through medicare much more effcienctly and much CHEAPER.

Why should you support a private health insurance system that takes money directly from your business and gives it to a big blue health insurance company? Why should you be forced to have a health insurance expert on your payroll just to keep up with the crazy non sense private health insurance companies try every year to get more of your money? Why shouldn't you be able to hire who you want without worrying about what their health condition will do to your company health plan and thus your bottom line? If we had national health insuranc ein this country you would not have the private health insurance companies taking so much money and you would not need to hire a whole staff just to keep up with private health insurance company tricks concerning your staff or your staff's health issues. Why should YOU be inthe doctor business if that ISN'T your business! With anational health insurance plan you won't need to be in the doctor business anymore, you won't have your profits sucked away by private health insurace companies, and you'll be able to hire the best person for the job even if they have exepnsive health issues becuase YOU and your Busienss won't be invovled in your employee's personal healthcare!

Why not get together with other business owners and tell your representative in congress and the Chambers of Commerce that you are sick of them taking money from private health insurance companies and screwing you and YOUR business for the profits of the private health insurance companies. Right now the private health insurance companies are getting Congress to put THEIR profits before YOUR business profits. As business men you probably know the only way to REALLY establish competitiveness in the USA is to have a universal healthcare system so you can go back to just doing YOUR business and not playing healthcare matron.

Businesses acting together CAN counter the massive pressure the Health Insurance Industry is putting on Congress. DO it. Call the local Chamber of Commerce and tell them unless they demand universal helath insurance on behalf of all businesses in America that you will withdraw your support for the Chamber and forming another organization to represent your true business interests. Call your representatives and senators and tell them YOU not the private health insurance companies are the busiensses in AMerica they should be paying attention to and you DEMAND they put America on an equal playing field with all other major nations and cover health insurance so you can get back to doing only YOUR business at an equal cost basis to other nations.

Talk to other businessmen and do that TODAY.

He was also the founder of the Canadian healthcare movement which defeated their private insurance company profiteers and which finally led to universal healthcare for all in Canada stopping millions of needless deaths over the past 50 years.
